Esquisite Finishes From Italy In the search for durable wall materials, lime-based plaster wall coatings have been used since the time of ancient Egypt as a protective stucco wall finish. Practiced by the Greeks and Romans and brought to a new level of decorative protection by Italians centuries ago, Italian plasters are both visually appealing and a functional enhancement in the home environment. With the addition of marble flour, acrylic polymers and pigments, modern Italian plasters improve the durability of walls and ceilings with a stone-like appearance of quarried marble or granite. When the historical buildings of the Republic of Venice were erected, all the construction materials and the corresponding techniques were always carefully selected. Up to the end of the 18th century, decorated plasters all manufactured by original Venetian stucco, played a very important role in the European architectural expression. They were integral and significant part of the whole building system in the Renaissance and the Baroque period as well, especially in the Rococo style. Through a variety of hand trowel techniques our designs compliment any décor including contemporary, Asian, old world, French country and many others.
